Pathway Worship

SONGLIST (September 5, 2010)

by Danny on Sep.01, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

Well, last Sunday we closed out our nine week Body Life sermon series. I don’t know about you, but I was blessed and really enjoyed the topics that were covered in that sermon series. God really got my attention in a number of areas and I’m anxious to continue growing.

This Sunday we’ll take a very practical look at how we can be praying as a church, especially for those who are family and friends among us. God’s Word is full of encouragement and instruction for us on this topic.

This is certainly a can’t miss opportunity for everyone at Pathway. I know that the discipline of prayer is something that I need to work on constantly and make a priority in the life of my family. How ’bout you? Where are you at in your walk with God when it comes to prayer? Have you incorporated any new prayer ideas lately?

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Counting On God (Ab) (New Life Worship)
Not To Us (Ab) (Chris Tomlin)
Forever Reign (Bb) (Hillsong)
Draw Me Close / Majesty (G) (Various)

SONGLIST (August 29, 2010)

by Danny on Aug.26, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

Man-o-days! I heard from a number of people that I missed a really great message on spiritual gifts last Sunday. I’m sure I did. I’ll have to listen to the podcast sometime soon to make sure I’m all caught up.

This Sunday’s topic is one that I’m excited about because I’m trusting God to stir a new passion for evangelism in my heart. I don’t know if you’ve thought about it before or not, but God has one plan for drawing the world to Himself…it’s us, His church. That’s it–there’s no plan B!

This Sunday we’re privileged to hear from several people in regard to their mission trip experiences this summer. In addition to that, we’ll journey together through God’s Word to discover, once again, God’s heartbeat for the salvation of the world. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow. I would also encourage you to begin asking the Holy Spirit to stir a fresh passion for evangelism in your own heart. Invite a friend and keep on praying!

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Glory To God Forever (Ab) (Fee)
Tell The World (A) (Hillsong)
Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King (C) (Gateway Worship)
Our God (G) (Chris Tomlin)
You Are Here (The Same Power) (G) (Hillsong)
Everlasting God (chorus) (G) (Chris Tomlin)

SONGLIST (August 22, 2010)

by Danny on Aug.16, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

So…two weeks ago our Body Life series helped us understand who the Holy Spirit is and this past Sunday we learned how to confront the evil one. This Sunday, we’re diving into what the Bible says about spiritual gifts.

God’s Word makes it clear that every believer has at least one spiritual gift that is to be used to encourage and benefit the body of Christ. The best thing is that every gift is given by the Holy Spirit. Actually, if you think about it, the Holy Spirit is the real gift of God.

This is definitely a Sunday that you don’t want to miss. This is a teaching that we all need and will help us all to understand how the body of Christ is to function.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Awesome God (chorus) (C) (Michael W. Smith)
Your Grace Is Enough (G) (Chris Tomlin)
Come To The Cross (C) (Michael W. Smith)
Mighty To Save (G) (Hillsong)
Let Us Adore (G) (Hillsong)
Worthy You Are Worthy (G) (Matt Redman)

SONGLIST (August 15, 2010)

by Danny on Aug.11, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

Last Sunday Pastor Adin gave us an introduction to the Holy Spirit. We focused on who the Holy Spirit is and how He is described in the Bible.

This coming Sunday we continue on with a look at how believers are in a war…but not against flesh and blood, but rather against spiritual forces of evil. This is an important distinction as we look at how we’re instructed to confront the evil one, the enemy of our souls, satan.

This will be a great opportunity for all of us to continue growing in our understanding of how we’re to trust the power of the Holy Spirit, as well as do our part in confronting the evil one.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Evermore (G) (Hillsong)
For Who You Are (G) (Hillsong)
My Joy (G) (Philip Herndon)
Worthy You Are Worthy (A) (Matt Redman)

SONGLIST (August 8, 2010)

by Danny on Aug.04, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

My, oh my, God really grabbed my attention last week as we took a look at humility and unity in our return to our Body Life series. I was blown away by how many things God was showing me about me. It was great in some respects, but super heavy in many ways because it means that there’s a lot of work to do. But the good part about that, is that the Holy Spirit will help me to make the necessary changes.

That leads me into what we can expect this Sunday. Our topic this week is of the supernatural nature…we’re going after Holy Spirit 101 types of stuff. Who is the Holy Spirit? What does He do? Is He really God? How can we tell He’s at work in our lives? These are the types of questions that we’ll be going after. I can’t wait…I’ve been reading a book by Francis Chan entitled Forgotten God this week to help me focus on this topic. Great book about the Holy Spirit. You can borrow mine if you like. Let me know.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Spirit Thing (Gb) (Newsboys)
God Is Alive (A) (Fee)
Marvelous Light (A) (Charlie Hall)
Stronger (A) (Hillsong)
From The Inside Out (A) (Hillsong United)
How He Loves (A) (David Crowder Band)
We Believe (E) (Dan Wilt)

SONGLIST (August 1, 2010)

by Danny on Jul.28, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

Now that we’ve made our way though the month of July and our Faithbook series, we’re jumping back into our Body Life series to finish out the month of August.

The topic this Sunday is humility. Together we’ll discover how God’s Word gives us direction about how to humble ourselves as we seek to be more like Jesus.

Humility is also the attitude of unity. It’s evident in John 14:6 that unity starts with Jesus. And when we study Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi, we notice that Jesus is our prime example for understanding what it means to humble ourselves.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Revelation Song (D) (Gateway Worship)
Amazed (Chorus only) (D) (Jared Anderson)
Indescribable (E) (Chris Tomlin)
One Pure and Holy Passion (A) (Passion Band)
None But Jesus (B) (Hillsong United)
The More I Seek (E) (Gateway Worship)

SONGLIST (July 25, 2010)

by Danny on Jul.20, 2010, under Sunday Songlists

It’s hard to believe, but we’re approaching the end of July and the final Sunday for our Faithbook series. I’m believing that God has stirred our faith during these past few weeks as we’ve peeked into the lives of some Bible characters.

This Sunday we’ll take a look at the life of Naaman. Together we’ll discover that he is a man who has a serious disease and is on his way to find the cure. His story is a good illustration for us today, showing us the hopelessness of our sin, and the folly in trying to “fix” ourselves. We will learn what God has done for us to provide a cure for our sin and how trust in him is our only hope.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Holy Is The Lord (G) (Chris Tomlin)
God Of Wonders (A) (Various Artists)
Amazed (D) (Jared Anderson)
I Stand In Awe (A) (Marie Barnett)
Majesty (G) (Delirious)

This Sunday Pastor Jeremy Blount will be sharing about the life of King Hezekiah. He was the great grandfather of King Josiah. Pastor Jeremy will help us not only understand who King Hezekiah was, but challenge us to consider what God would have us learn and how we should respond.

Well, here we are turning the corner on the month of July already. Can you believe it? We’re already half way through the year. Crazy!

We’re gearing up to start a new four week sermon series called Faithbook. Together we’ll spend some time reconnecting with some familiar (and not so familiar) Bible friends. As much time as we spend being updated these days on people we’ve met over the years, we need to spend some time in God’s Word getting to know various characters.

This Sunday we’ll take a look at King Josiah and his passion and call to God’s people to revival. Invite a friend and get ready to reconnect with one of the Bible’s greatest men of reform.

The songlist for Sunday includes:
Counting On God (Ab) (New Life Worship)
Not To Us (Ab) (Chris Tomlin)
Lord Let Your Glory Fall (chorus) (G) (Matt Redman)
Hungry (C) (Vineyard UK)
