by Philip on Aug.02, 2011, under Sunday Songlists
It’s hard to believe we’ve turned the corner on the month of August already. School sales are going on as I write this note and families are winding down their vacation schedules to prepare for the start of another year of schooling. Time is simply flying by.
This past weekend we concluded our summer sermon series, Twisting The Truth, and beginning this Saturday night we’re going to focus our attention on a passage of Scripture where Jesus instructs us and models for us how we trust God through prayer. This 3-Week series on the Lord’s Prayer will be a great way for us to finish out the summer months together.
I’m looking forward to another weekend where we worship the Lord together and continue to grow in our understanding of who He is and how He’s calling us to live our lives for His glory.

SONGLIST (Sunday, July 10)

One of the greatest schemes of the evil one is to get Christ’s followers to start questioning and doubting God. Satan started his deception right in the garden with Adam and Eve. God clearly spoke His truth and Satan taught Adam & Eve to question God. Genesis 3:1 records the evil one asking Eve, “… Did God really say…?” Then he planted doubt in their minds by sowing doubt about God’s character.
Our enemy is still using those tactics today. He’s trying to get us to question God’s goodness, fairness and justice. Join us Saturday evening, July 9th, or Sunday morning, July 10th, as we take an important look at Exodus 34:6-7 and examine His character and His answers to many misconceptions about who He is and how He works.

Last weekend Pastor Jeremy Bowders started us on our new summer sermon series entitled Twisting The Truth. We’re excited for all the ways that God’s truth will be revealed to us this summer as we focus on truth found in the Bible.
This Sunday we’re taking a look at how satan, the enemy of our souls, has twisted the truth about death. What does God’s Word have to say to us about death? What should be our focus when we think about it? What did Jesus teach us about death as we read the gospel accounts? How do we use the word “eternity” in a Biblical way? When we talk about death, do we need to talk about what it means to live…I mean really live? I can’t wait to jump into this together and walk away with a renewed understanding of this topic of death.

SONGLIST (May 29, 2011)

Last weekend was an amazing opportunity when it came to worship. On Saturday evening we held our first Saturday Night Service at 6 PM. Sunday morning we had two more services, and then Sunday evening Oceans In Love led us in worship. I’d love to hear how God was moving in your life during those times of responding to God and His amazing love.
This Sunday we’re focusing on a question that I think is of great importance. I’m not sure we focus too much on it’s implications, but I believe with all my heart that it needs to be asked, and needs to be asked frequently to help us stay true to what God would have us do and be.
You can read Philippians 1:1-30 to prepare yourself for the message. The Apostle Paul lived a contented life and had a deep understanding of what God had saved him for. What can we learn from his life and writings so that we, too, can have a deep understanding of what God has saved us for? Come on Sunday with an anticipation of meeting with God and hearing His voice and answer to this question.

The way I see it, God is amazing and His mighty move among His people stirs my heart to explode with praise and worship. I hope you’re heart is aware of all the wonderful ways that God is at work in this fellowship. What God Sightings have you see lately? I’d love to hear your story.
This Sunday we’ll consider the encouragement and direction we find in the Bible regarding our attitudes…more specifically, gratitude.
Would you consider yourself a grateful person? Do you find yourself complaining more than accepting? Does your heart rejoice often? It’s amazing how a grateful heart can make a difference in our relationships, both with God and others.
Take some time to read these passages in preparation for Sunday. Colossians 3:15-17 and Psalm 100:1-5. Don’t forget to invite a friend or neighbor this Sunday.

I was reading the other day in a worship article about the transformational power of worship by Pete Sanchez. I found a few statements from this article quite compelling. I’d be curious what you think of these. Comment below if you like.
“Biblical worship is an encounter that results in personal transformation.”
“Jacob, Moses, Isaiah, and the Samaritan woman each encountered a living God and as a result their destinies were altered forever. Because they touched heaven, their lives on earth were changed. Even more, those they touched were changed. The transformed became agents of transformation.”
Do you have a story of how you were transformed due to an encounter with the living God? Take some time to share it here or with someone else…your story will encourage someone else to worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth.
This Sunday we’re taking a look at how God has uniquely designed each one of us to impact the world. Together we’ll peek into the lives of John the Baptist, Jesus, and others to see how they had a significant description by God on how to live and impact the world. What is your significant description? Come and consider how God has uniquely designed you to make a difference and influence lives.

From where the sun rises to where it sets, you inspire shouts of joy – Psalm 65:8. Inspire Worship theme verse.
The Inspire Worship Seminar this past weekend proved to be a major blessing in the lives of so many who serve in worship ministries, including those of us from PCC. For those of you who could come, I can’t wait to hear the stories of what God revealed to you. For those of you who couldn’t join us, I hope that you’ll be able to join us next year. Nonetheless, we will all benefit from the things that we’ve learned as we share them with each other.
Also, each of you will be hearing more from me soon about worshiptraining.com and the church site membership that PCC will be able to take advantage of this year. I can’t wait for all of you to have the opportunity for training and growth as it relates to worship.
This Sunday we’ll be taking some time in our services to encourage and pray for the Moms among us. Also, our sermon topic is something that will inspire and encourage Moms, and everyone as well — Restoring Weary Souls. This will be a great Sunday for all who find themselves tired and in need of rest. God always offers us what we need…I’m reminded of the words of Jesus when he invites all of us to come to Him and find rest. When you find yourself dreaming about the rest that you so desperately need, are you dreaming of Jesus or the beach? Are you thinking I just need a few hours along with God or a few hours at the mall? Jesus is the answer to our weary souls.
